South Plains College is bound by the Texas Open Records Law, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, and institutional procedures in determining access to or the release of student records. Parents of students may obtain access to student records if they meet specific criteria and submit a completed Certification of Dependency Form to the Dean of Admissions and Records.

A student may restrict release of directory information by submitting a completed Student Privacy Notice  to the Dean of Admissions and Records.
