Administrative Assistant in Guidance and Counseling
Position is located on the Levelland Campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Report to the Director of Guidance and Counseling.
Welcome, assist and provide information to students and community members.
Perform general office and clerical duties as assigned.
Provide support services for Director, Counselors, and Testing and Disability Services personnel.
Assist with preparation and implementation of SPC and/or Counseling and Guidance events.
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer applications as needed.
Apply knowledge of college processes and departmental policies and procedures.
Register students for testing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree preferred. Typing skills of 50 WPM with accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required. Strong familiarity with Desktop publishing applications is a plus. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts and develop statistical information. Ability to apply concepts algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
