SUMMARY
To serve as Assistant Rodeo Coach and assist in SPC
farm management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONISBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned by the Athletic
Director.
Assistant Rodeo
Coach
Assist the Head Rodeo Coach in the following
areas:
1. Recruiting
2. Supervising student eligibility and
memberships
3. Discipline and control of students in
rodeo program
4. Follow policies of South Plains
College
5. Management of Livestock (feed,
doctor, transportation)
6. Management of Arena and Barns
7. Maintenance of Facilities and
Equipment
8. Study halls
9. Book check-in and return
10. Management and upkeep of the SPC farm equipment
and facilities
Other duties assigned by head coach
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in an
appropriate field, from four-year college or
university. Master’s Degree preferred.
2. Sound background and knowledge of rodeo as
well as instructional field.
3. Familiarity with livestock/farm
management
4. Knowledge and experience with
computers
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure
manuals. Ability to write routine reports and
correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a
variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.
