Business Services Technician
The Business Services Technician is responsible for updating and maintaining all bill data, chart, and refund schedules in ESP system. This includes direct contact with the South Plains College IT department and ESP Jenzabar to resolve problems and add new processes to the sbr/billing system. This position is responsible for dropping students from classes for nonpayment, and balancing cash receipts on all campuses daily. The Business Services Technician will supervise all cashiers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervise cashiers on all campuses.
Enter refund schedule and start/stop dates into POISE system and enter tuition, fee, room and board changes into the POISE system. Work with ESP
Balance cash, checks, and credit cards on all campuses and post to fiscal system daily.
Putting billing statements (including the web) up and down as needed for all servers.
Track students for payment and drop on predetermined drop dates and make sure all students enrolled are paid by census date.
Send email notices and statements to students for tuition and fees.
Process housing deposit refunds and forfeits.
Work with housing office to resolve billing problems.
Maintain and update billing statements (change message, tuition due date, etc.)
Run batches to determine if students owe funds and place holds on student accounts at beginning of each semester.
Responsible for manual tuition/fee changes in billing.
Adjustments for wing advisor/livestock judging , etc.
Serve as back up to Cashier Coordinator (process refund checks, prepare financial aid adjustments, etc. as needed).
Numerous other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree required /Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of ESP/POISE billing software preferred
Experience with Excel and Word
Supervisory Experience a plus
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively respond to questions from faculty, agencies, students, and the public is essential. Excellent communication skills needed.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to use a 10 key or calculator.
Must have the ability to manage large work flow with little or no supervision. Must be self motivated individual with great attention to detail.
