Cashier will provide assistance to students in collecting tuition and fees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receipt payments from students, SouthPlainsCollege departments, and external agencies.
Balance cash to daily deposit report and prepare a deposit slip daily.
Answer phone inquiries from students and prospective students.
Answer questions from students and prospective students in the office.
Assist with collection of returned checks.
Assist students during pre-registration, registration, and dual credit registration.
Assist with the folding and mailing of student refund checks.
Disburse student refund checks.
Assist in making Texan ID/debit cards and advise students on the guidelines
of handling the Texan card.
Assist students with questions pertaining to the 1098T form.
Balance the Continuing Ed deposit totals daily from all 3 campuses.
Print the schedule and student refund checks for the Continuing Ed Department

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School diploma or GED certificate. Cashiering experience and accounting knowledge is preferred.
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively respond to questions from faculty, agencies, students, and the public is essential.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to use a 10 key or calculator.
The applicant must be able to follow directions (either written or oral) and solve problems.
