Cashier-Reese Center

SUMMARY

Cashier will provide assistance to students in collecting tuition and fees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receipt payments from students,SouthPlainsCollegedepartments, and external agencies.

Balance cash to daily deposit report.

Prepare deposit slip daily.

Answer questions from students and prospective students.

Assist with collection of returned checks.

Assist students during pre-registration, registration, and dual credit registration.

Assist with the folding and mailing of students account statements.

Assist with the folding and mailing of Collection Agency warning letters.

Collect funds from students for old balances.

Assist in making Texan ID/debit cards and advise students on the guidelines

of handling the Texan card.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

MinimumHigh Schooldiploma or GED certificate.   Cashiering experience and accounting knowledge is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively respond to questions from faculty, agencies, students, and the public is essential.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole

numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to use a 10 key or calculator.

REASONING ABILITY

The applicant must be able to follow directions (either written or oral) and solve problems.
