Instructor in Fine Arts - Art

SUMMARY

Teach college courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach Art Appreciation online and classroom, foundations drawing, watercolors and/or other classes according to applicant’s strength and experience

ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE

Commitment to the foundations area concentrations, including drawing and design.

Recruiting for visual Fine Arts.

Academic advising of visual arts Fine Arts majors.

Development of online courses.

Other duties may be assigned by the departmental chair in accordance with the Faculty Handbook

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Masters Degree required, Masters of Fine Arts preferred with 2D or 3D emphasis. At least two (2) years college teaching experience required. Proven success as an artist and educator with active exhibition record. Applicant must show commitment to the foundations/ core area courses as well as to the mission of the two-year college.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general collegiate periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, professional correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, faculty, administration, staff, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Consistent with instructional area.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
