Trips off-campus for faculty and staff members shall be made only after approval obtained through administrative procedures. Trips necessitating absence from classes and other assignments are encouraged to the extent that they stimulate professional interest, provide information and new ideas on processes related to the newest and best in college functioning, and make possible valuable intercollegiate contacts. No trips off-campus, however, shall be approved until arrangements have first been made by the involved faculty or staff member to insure the adequate performance of delegated duties during the absence of the faculty or staff member from the campus, and the undisturbed continuance of all parts of the college operations. The financing of such trips, when supplied by education and general funds, should be a part of the departmental budget allowance, and must follow the plan for such expenditure of funds.
