DUA. Employee Service Awards

Without the talents, expertise, and loyalty of the Administration, Faculty, Staff, and Regents of South Plains College, the College’s mission could not be successfully accomplished. It is indeed appropriate that these individuals be recognized and honored for their years of service.

RECOGNITION

The College will host an Employee Service Award banquet. All employees, regardless of years of service, are invited. Service awards of specially designed medallions will be awarded as follows:

Five (5) years service. . . . . . . . . . . . .Bronze
Ten (10) years service. . . . . . . . . . . . Silver
Fifteen (15) years service. . . . . . . . . .10K Gold
Twenty (20) years service. . . . . . . . . 14K Gold w/5 pt. Diamond
Twenty-five (25) years service. . . . . .14K Gold w/10 pt. Diamond
Thirty (30) years service. . . . . . . . . . .Gold Watch with inscription on the back "SPC 30 years of service 19__ to 20__

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The following are eligible to receive employee service awards:

1. All duly elected or appointed members of the Board of Regents.
2. All faculty, administration, and professional staff employees, whom the Board of Regents approves for employment.
3. All other employees in permanent positions that are regularly scheduled to work a minimum of seventeen (17) hours a week.

COMPUTATION OF YEARS OF SERVICE

Years of Service will be computed using the normal nine month academic year. An employee/Regent will earn credit for a year of service if he/she is employed or assumes office before January 1^st. An employee/Regent must be employed or in office on the last day of the academic year in order to receive credit for that year. However, if the employee/Regent qualifies for retirement and elects to retire, the employee/Regent will receive credit for his/her last year of service if the employee/Regent is employed or serves for a minimum of one semester during that year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility for the coordination of the employee service awards process is assigned to the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
