We can only guarantee grant funds to be available at registration if the student meets the priority deadlines listed above. For consideration of all available programs, (especially those with limited funding), your file must be complete by the priority deadlines.

Applications will be considered at all times, but if your file is not complete by the priority deadlines or if you are a first-time borrower with a 30 day hold on your first check, you should be prepared to pay at registration using your own personal funds.  If you are eligible for Financial Aid, currently enrolled and you are meeting SPC Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards, you will receive your assistance during the semester/quarter.

If your file is selected for verification, it may be determined that additional paperwork is required and the student and/or parent(s) will be asked to provide such information.  Failure or refusal to provide the information requested will end the processing of the financial aid file.  A student’s file will be processed on a “first come - first serve” basis according to the date the last document was received to complete his/her file.  During peak periods, students will experience some delays in the processing of their files.

ABSOLUTE DEADLINES:

FEDERAL PELL GRANT

In order to receive Pell grant funds, the Department of Education must have processed a valid SAR/ISIR record with an official EFC number while an eligible student is enrolled for the award year.  Verification documents (if applicable) must be received and be accurate no later than 120 days after the last day of enrollment or 9-15-08 whichever is earlier.

CAMPUS-BASED & FFELP

Files must be complete including the Loans-By-Web process one week prior to the last day of finals for the term or the award year.  An eligible student’s loan application must be certified by the Financial Aid Office no later than the last day of enrollment for the loan period.

If you withdraw from SPC prior to completing your file, please check with the Financial Aid Office to see if you qualify for a Post Withdrawal Disbursement once your file is complete.

Consequences of not meeting the absolute deadlines are the forfeiture of your aid for the current award year.
