Health Information Technology
Successful completion of this competency-based two-year program entitles the graduate to receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and to be eligible to write the national exam for a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). The program awards the Tech Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate upon completion of additional technical courses. The program also offers one certificate option which prepares students for employment as a transcription specialist. The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) in cooperation with the American Health Information Management Association's Council on Accreditation accredits the Health Information Technology program.
The Health Information Technology program begins in the fall of each year. Enrollment is limited by the number of affiliated practicum sites.
