FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. DO I HAVE TO HAVE PLACEMENT SCORES TO ATTEND ORIENTATION?
Yes! It is very important for students who plan to attend orientation to have their TSI Assessment scores on file with the Admissions Office. If you are exempt from taking the TSI Assessment, you must have your STAAR-EOC, ACT, or SAT scores on file with the Admissions Office. Students without test scores WILL NOT be able to register for classes at orientation.
2. CAN I JUST SHOW-UP?
Students are encouraged to register for the orientation they plan to attend prior to the day of the orientation so that we can be prepared and ready for you to be on campus. We want to give you the best orientation experience possible.
3. SHOULD I STAY THE WHOLE DAY?
Yes! It is important to stay the entire day of orientation as to not miss out on any important information or fun! Students will rotate through several different sessions throughout orientation-all of which are very important to your future success!
4. IS IT REQUIRED THAT I ATTEND NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION?
All new students are highly encouraged to attend an orientation event. Students who attend orientation are typically better prepared and successful their first semester at SPC.
5. WHAT IF I CAN'T COME-DO I GET A REFUND?
Orientation fees are non-refundable. Students unable to attend the orientation they registered for will have the option to attend a later orientation date if space permits. For questions concerning refunds, please call 806-716-2115 or email email@example.com.
6. HOW DO I DECIDE WHICH ORIENTATION TO ATTEND?
Attend the orientation where you plan to take the majority of your classes. It is important to know that not every major is offered at every campus. Check out our Orientation Schedule for a chart of majors and where each is offered.
7. WHAT IF I'M ALREADY REGISTERED FOR CLASSES?
Even if you are already registered for classes, attend orientation! There is a lot of information presented at orientation in addition to advising and registration. Plus, you can meet with an advisor to ensure you are on track and make any changes to your schedule, if needed.
