Continuing Education Courses Spring 2013

January

Basketball Sports Photography Workshop – Levelland will be offered from noon to 5 p.m. on Jan. 12 (Saturday) in the Texan Dome. Enrollment is limited to five students and will be accepted on first-paid basis. The cost is $40.

 

Introduction to Welding is set for Jan. 14 through May 6. The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays in the Welding Technology Building. The cost of the class is $400 plus supplies.

 

Digital Photography Jump-Start Class Levelland is set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 19. The class will be taught in the Technical Arts in Room 113. Participants should bring their camera and manual. The cost is $40. The class also will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 2.

 

Quilting Piecing-Levelland Orientation is set for 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 22. The class will begin Jan. 29 through March 19. The class will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Founders Room. The cost is $40 plus supplies.

 

Basic Phlebotomy Session One is set for Jan. 28 through Feb. 15. The class will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays in Technical Arts Room 112. Clinicals will be arranged. The cost is $415. The textbook will cost $115.

 

Certified Nurse Aide is set for Jan. 28 through Feb. 15. The class will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Technical Arts Building Room 107. Clinicals will be arranged from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course costs $375. The State Exam cost is $93. The textbook will cost $47 and the CPR certificate will cost $35.

 

Quilting Piecing-Morton Orientation is set for 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 28. The class will begin Feb. 11 through April 15. The class will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays at Morton High School. The cost is $40 plus supplies.

 

 

February

NRA Basic Pistol will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb 2 (Saturday) in Law Enforcement Room 115. The cost is $70.

 

Intermediate Photography – Reese will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 2 (Saturday) in Building 5. The cost is $50.

 

Oil Painting for Fun is set for Feb. 4 through April 22. The class will meet on Mondays from 7 to 10 p.m. in Fine Arts Room 134. The cost is $85 plus supplies. (This class is NOT recommended for young children or women who are pregnant.)

 

Hydrogen Sulfide Safety is set for Feb. 4, March 4, April 1 and May 6. The class will meet on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. in Law Enforcement Room 108. The cost of the class is $15.

 

Intro to Group Guitar I is set for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 through March 5 (Tuesdays) in Commercial Music Building Room 146. The cost is $75. Space is limited.

 

Old World Walls Faux Finishing is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 through March 7 in Technical Arts Building Room 113. The cost is $80 and includes supplies. The class also will be offered April 25 through May 23.

 

NRA Home Firearm Safety will be offered from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 (Sunday) in Room 115 of the Law Enforcement Building. The cost is $45.

 

Advanced Indoor Lighting Workshop – Levelland is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 (Saturday) in Technical Arts Building Room 113. The cost is $50.

 

Concealed Handgun Classes is set Feb. 23, March 23, April 27 and May 18 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The class will meet in Law Enforcement Room 115. It costs $70.

 

 

March

NRA Personal Protection in the Home will be offered at 8 a.m. on March 9 (Saturday) in Law Enforcement Room 115. The cost is $70.

 

NRA Refuse to be a Victim will be offered from 2 to 6 p.m. on March 17 (Sunday) in Law Enforcement Room 115. The cost is $35.

 

Basic Phlebotomy Session II will be offered from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on March 18-April 10 (Mondays and Wednesdays) in Technical Arts Building Room 112. Clinicals will be arranged. The cost is $415 and the textbook costs $115.

 

Intro to Group Guitar II is set for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on March 19 through April 16 (Tuesdays) in Commercial Music Building Room 146. The cost is $75. Space is limited.

 

Faux Furnitureclass is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 21 through April 18 (Thursdays) in Technical Arts Building Room 113. The cost is $80. The class also will be offered May 30 through June 27.


 

 

April

The Nighttime Digital Photography at Reese Center will be taught during late evening into the night from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on April 20 in Building 5 at the SPC Reese Center campus. This class is only for digital SLR camera users. Students will need to bring their own tripod. The cost is $50.

 

 

May

The Golden Light Outdoor Workshop – Reese will be offered from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on May 4 in Building 5 at the SPC Reese Center campus. Students must have taken the Jump Start Class prior to taking this class. The cost is $50.

 

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home will be offered at 8 a.m. on May 4 (Saturday) and 2 p.m. on May 5 (Sunday) in Law Enforcement Room 115. The cost is $100 and includes the advanced class. Both days must be taken.

 

The Golden Light Morning Workshop will be offered from 6 a.m. to noon on May 11 (Saturday) in Fine Arts Building Room 102. Students must have taken the Jump Start Class prior to taking this class. The cost is $50.

 

NRA Advanced Personal Protection Outside the Home will be offered at 9 a.m. on May 11 (Saturday) in Law Enforcement Room 115. Students must have taken the first two classes.
