Do I have to take the EMT course to become a firefighter?
A. You are required to take an EMT course. It is recommended that you contact Mr. Matt Hixson, Coordinator and Instructor of the Fire Technology Program.
Do I have to tbe an EMT to become a Paramedic?
A. Yes. There is a sequential order in which you must take the EMS courss
Can I receive college credit for an EMT course that I did not take through SPC or another accredited college?
A. Yes. You can receive credit for EMS courses by providing an official transcript from an accredited college or university that shows equivalent courses. You may also provide your National Registry or State of Texas certification to receive credit for an EMT course.
Is there a bridge course from Nursing to Paramedic or Paramedic to Nursing
A. No, South Plains College does not offer this type of bridge course.
Are uniforms required for the EMS Program?
A.Yes, you will need to purchase an EMS Program uniform. Details are provided the first week of class.
Do you offer advanced placement for college credit?A.No, at this time the program does not offer advanced placement.
