    SPC to host Fest Week April 24 through May 2 in Tom T. Hall Studio

     

    LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s Creative Arts department will host Fest Week at 6 p.m. Wednesday (April 24) through May 2 in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. Each night of the festival will showcase different music ensembles.

    Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.

    Praise Fest kicks off the week of music on Wednesday (April 24). The evening will feature a night of praise, worship and contemporary Christian music featuring the bands ZION at 6 p.m.; That One Praise Band at 6:45 p.m.; and Students Praising Christ at 7:30 p.m.

    Acoustic Music Fest is set for Thursday (April 25), and will feature the best in traditional and modern acoustical music. The show will feature County Hockley at 6:45 p.m.; Acoustic Rock at 7:30 p.m.; Acoustic Jazz Ensemble at 8:15 p.m.; Sarah & The Boys at 9 p.m.; and Pickin’ on the Plains at 9:45 p.m.

    Country Fest is April 29, and will feature modern country, traditional country, swing, Texas and southern style country music. The show will feature South Plains Playboys at 6 p.m.; Murky Waters at 6:45 p.m.; Country Jukebox at 7:30 p.m.; The Red Dirt Ramblers at 8:15 p.m.; and Out to Lunch at 9:45 p.m.

    Rock Fest is set for April 30, and will feature classic, metal, alternative rock as well as rock and roll. The show will feature More Cowbell at 6 p.m.; Red Hate Tater Peppers at 6:45 p.m.; Little Big Groovy at 7:30 p.m.; The April Fools at 8:15 p.m.; Tate Force 5 at 9 p.m.; The Kings & Queens of Wallney at 9:45 p.m.; Ten to One at 10:30 p.m.; and Mousse Abuse at 11:15 p.m.

    Groove Fest is May 1, and will feature modern and traditional jazz, R&B and blues music. The show will feature Real Book at 6 p.m.; Electric Jazz at 6:45 p.m.; Crazy Eight at 7:30 p.m.; Grammatical Correct at 8:15 p.m.; Stank Face at 9 p.m.; the Beagles at 9:45 p.m.; and Blue Plate Special at 10:30 p.m.

    Thursday Nite Extravaganza is May 2, and will feature performances by SPC’s premiere ensembles Thursday Night Live at 7:30 p.m. and Alterna TV at 9 p.m. Funky See – Funky Do will kick off the evening with a performance at 6 p.m.
