South Plains College to honor 20 retirees
LEVELLAND – South Plains College will say goodbye to 20 employees who retired during the 2012-2013 year. These employees combined for 417 years of service to SPC and each played a vital role in the success the college as well as the thousands of students that pass through its doors each year.
The retirees will be honored at 1:30 p.m. Friday (May 3) in the Sundown Room.
The retirees are Harold Anderson, Marla Barbee, Ron Carden, Patricia Cearley, Carla Dewbre, Linda Dunn, Pauline Escarcega, Todd Gregg, Jim Hardy and Sandra Hutchins.
Also, Jon Johnson, Jim Jenkins, Betty Lack, Victoria McLure, Bertha Osornio, Emma Rios-Quevedo, Virginia Rogers, Joyce Ann Schoggins, Wayne Snelling and Barbara Webb.
Anderson, Assistant Professor of History, retires with six years of service.
Barbee, Associate Professor of Reading, retires with 22 years of service.
Carden, Department Chair and Professor of History, retires with 43 years of service.
Cearley, Professor of English, retires with 30 years of service.
Dewbre, Mailroom Supervisor, retires with 29 years of service.
Dunn, Assistant Professor of Associate Degree Nursing, retires with 11 years of service.
Escarcega, Groundskeeper, retires with 34 years of service.
Gregg, Maintenance Supervisor, retires with 14 years of service.
Hardy, Computer Network Technician, retires with 13 years of service.
Hutchins, Dorm Director – Frazier, retires with 10 years of service.
Jenkins, Professor of Agriculture, retires with 45 years of service.
Johnson, Professor of Music, retires with 29 years of service.
Lack, Dorm Director – Forrest, retires with 16 years of service.
McLure, Professor of English, retires with 21 years of service.
Osornio, Custodian, retires with 28 years of service.
Emma Rios-Quevedo, Assistant Professor of Foreign Language, retires with 12 years of service.
Virginia Rogers, Administrative Assistant to Nursing Department – SPC Plainview, retires with seven years of service.
Schoggins, Baker Center Supervisor, retires with 16 years of service.
Snelling, Program Coordinator and Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems, retires with 19 years of service.
Webb, Assistant Coordinator/TASP Compliance Officer, retires with 12 years of service.
